“Conformation” is the official name for “dog shows.” The true purpose of conformation showing is to evaluate breeding stock. The dog’s conformation—his overall appearance and structure—is an indication of the dog’s ability to produce quality purebred puppies, and that is what is being judged in the ring. That’s why only purebreds can compete.
The Potomac Afghan Hound Club hosts 2 specialty shows a year, one in the Spring and one in the Summer/Fall. These shows are for Afghan Hounds only, competing for the ultimate prize as "Best in Specialty Show." With the best trophies, Afghans, exhibitors, food and judges— nothing beats a PAHC specialty show!
